Welcome to Hills Poets

We’re a poetry reading group meeting in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, UK. All readers are welcome to read their own poems, work by other poets, or join us to listen.

We meet on the second Monday of every month, from 7pm to 9pm, in the Great Malvern Hotel (usually in the Graham Room with the comfortable sofas). Entry is free. Drinks are available from the hotel bar.

The last meeting of 2014 is on Monday 8 December. Meeting dates for the first half of 2015 are Monday 12 January, 9 February, 9 March, 13 April, 11 May, and 8 June.

Hills Poets have been meeting regularly at the Great Malvern Hotel for years, although I wasn’t personally at the meeting on Monday 11 May. They might have been using a room downstairs. If you come again, and you’d be most welcome, I suggest you ask a member of staff where we are if you can’t find us. The bar staff are generally very helpful.

At the June meeting I found out the May meeting had been cancelled by the current organiser, without letting me know. The current organiser has also decided to end the monthly meetings, with June as the last, as she believes there aren’t enough attending members to support regular meetings. As a result, Hills Poets is now on hiatus. These decisions were only communicated to the membership after the organiser had already taken these actions so I didn’t know about them at the time or when I first replied to you. My apologies.
